Virginia

The Virginia trip is a good one for the youngsters. Its one that you can easily repeat if you live on the east coast. It didn't actually take us the whole two weeks as we finished it out with a few days camping at the beach in South Carolina. The kids were 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 on this trip.

The Fronteer Culture Museum - Staunton, VA

We spent a wonderful day at the Fronteer Culture Museum. The characters were friendly. They were doing real farm stuff and they let you and your kids have a turn as well. It is not to far from Natural Bridge, so we used the same base camp for both. There are 4 farms: An American Farm, an Irish Farm, a German Farm and and English Farm as well as an Indian Villiage, Blacksmith Forge and more!

Natural Bridge

There is a nice walk to Natural Bridge. Along the way you cross a replica of a Monican Indian villiage.
